A walkshop is a mobile workshop on a pre-determined walking route in an urban area that allows attendees to visit, learn about and reflect on local Vision Zero and transportation projects.
Walkshops allow participants to experience the urban road environment as pedestrians and makes them aware of challenges faced by people of all ages who walk and wheel in an urban neighbourhood. It also allows those who work in road safety from various disciplines to present what they are doing to improve safe mobility, the challenges they face and their recommendations for future improvements.
Parachute can help your community facilitate a Zero Vision walkshop by providing expertise, tools and organizational support. Contact us at walkshop@parachute.ca.
