The Public Health Agency of Canada has recently provided Parachute with funding for concussion and senior falls projects.
Concussion Harmonization Phase II
With additional funding we are continuing our work to ensure best-practice tools and resources are placed in the hands of those who need them and will have impact in two key ways:
- Improved concussion prevention, recognition and management in sport, health and education, and
- Increased awareness and confidence among Canadians of how to prevent, recognize, and manage concussion and where to access evidence-based concussion information.
The Government of Canada is currently supporting Parachute Canada in the development of return-to-school and return-to-sport concussion protocols, based on the Canadian Guideline on Concussion in Sport. These protocols will guide athletes, parents, coaches, teachers, trainers and licensed healthcare professionals in supporting children and youth recovering from a concussion, helping them to return safely to school and play.”

Seniors’ Falls
The goal of this project is to create a Pan-Canadian Seniors’ Fall Prevention Network for healthcare professionals to access evidence-informed fall prevention tools, and for Canadian seniors, their families and caregivers to access resources and solutions to reduce the incidence of falls and support seniors to live independent healthy, active lives.
“The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring the safety of our older population and helping them live healthy, active and independent lives. The Pan-Canadian Seniors’ Fall Prevention Network will enable Canadians, including health professionals, to easily find the information they need to both minimize falls among seniors and help with recovery after a fall.”
