Purpose
Supports school boards in Ontario with reviewing and updating their current concussion policy and procedures (as needed), staying up to date on risk management practices related to concussion and implementing the requirements outlined in the School Board Policies on Concussion (Policy/Program Memorandum 158).
Implementation
Organizations intending to make use of this resource are encouraged to recognize the importance of partnering with expertise (e.g., Parachute, Peds Concussion) to ensure language is accurate but developed to align with target audiences. It ensures school boards are aware of updates and gather feedback on what type of resources boards want before developing/revising existing tools and resources.
Ophea concussion resources have been implemented in all publicly funded school boards within Ontario.
