Purpose
This memorandum addresses concussion safety across all school and school board activities and applies to all publicly funded elementary and secondary schools. With the authority under the Education Act, the Minister of Education requires all school boards in Ontario to have a policy on concussion safety for students that meets certain minimum requirements, as outlined in this memorandum.
Implementation
PPM 158 was first issued in March 2014. It was replaced September 25, 2019 to reflect new requirements for schools enacted by the amendment of the Education Act through Rowan’s Law.
