Purpose
This e-learning module helps the audience understand how to mitigate risk of concussions, recognize the signs and symptoms of concussions, and know how to respond when a participant has a suspected concussion.
Implementation
The NCCP Making Head Way e-learning module was updated to better support the school environment and school-sport or teacher coaches. The Coaching Association of Canada had input from School Sport Canada and Physical and Health Education Saskatchewan. The module is available for free on the Coaching Association of Canada database, the Locker.
Provincial/territorial high school athletic associations in six jurisdictions mandate NCCP Making Head Way for coaches to be on the field of play: Alberta, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association and PHE Saskatchewan both endorse the module.
